As the gates open for the 2018 Lincoln County Fair and we celebrate “Old Things and New Fair Dreams” I want to take the time to thank all of our supporters over the years who continue to make our fair a success. We appreciate the opportunity to bring families together for fun while also learning about the impact agriculture has on our daily lives. Residents and visitors alike find our fair is a way to promote their agricultural and non-agricultural businesses, renew old friendships from days gone by, and forge new relationships. We hope your family makes memories and learns a lot at the 2018 Lincoln County Fair just as many others have done over the years.
This will be the 114th year that Lincoln County has celebrated its agricultural heritage with exhibits, events and competitions that involve all ages. This year we will celebrate “Old Things” with the return of our antique tractor exhibit in front of the grandstands, crafts reminiscent of the intricate handwork of the ladies from days gone by in the Creative Living Building, and the farming skills of our ancestors who grew lush tobacco, corn, soybeans, and cotton is on display in the Darrell Hale 4H Building.
“New Fair Dreams” at the Lincoln County Fair are actually dreams come true! The Colt Ford Music Festival will feature five bands plus Colt Ford himself to kick off the week of nightly entertainment in front of the grandstands. Belle City Amusements will provide the bright lights and thrilling rides on the midway where so many new fair dreams begin! Beautiful girls and talented performers will brighten the Fayetteville Lumber Stage during pageants and musical performances. From the opening night concert to the always popular Demolition Derby on the last Saturday night, there is something for everyone in front of the grandstands every night! The center section of this catalog will have a quick listing of our nightly entertainment for your convenience.
Whether you visit us during the day or at night, tour the Creative Living Building to see the handiwork of local artisans, get a caramel apple or fried Oreo® from the carnival, ride the rides, tour the ag exhibits and watch great performances from the grandstands! If you’ve never seen a harness race, this is your only chance in the great state of Tennessee. Lincoln County has the only harness races in the entire state and it is a thrill to watch those beautiful horses come around the top of the home stretch, racing with all their heart towards the finish line as the drivers call on them to give just a little more for the win. It’s a great tradition at one of the best fairs in Tennessee!
We are excited about the 2018 Lincoln County Fair and all it has to offer your family. Please know that we appreciate our customers and if I can do anything to make your fair experience any better, do not hesitate to reach out. I look forward to celebrating “Old Things and New Fair Dreams” with all of you at the 114th Lincoln County Fair!
